Marcia Lucas Marcia attended a Tallgrass Animal Acupressure introductory course in Tucson in 2000, looking to help her ailing Labrador Retriever. She fell in love with the study of acupressure and continued through the practitioner program, completing the final course in 2007. Along the way, she studied canine nutrition with Wendy Volhard and others, and gained sufficient knowledge to be chosen as a moderator of the online discussion group known as Volhard Nutrition. She interned under Dr Randy Aronson, VMD, to increase her understanding of small animal physiology, the use of Chinese herbs in veterinary treatment, and canine and feline nutrition. Upon retirement from the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Marcia turned her love of dogs into a training, consulting, and acupressure business. She now practices small animal acupressure in New Mexico, under the name Natural Dog and also spends time in southernArizona, near Tucson, where she is a veterinary assistant and acupressure practitioner at a busy, 5-doctor veterinary clinic. |

Kristen Guerra, Impulse Equine Therapy Kristen is a certified Equine Practitioner with Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute. She offers her therapy services at her farm or your farm throughout the Phoenix area. In addition to acupressure, Kristen uses other modalities such as aromatherapy, massage, structural release, and kinesiology to tailor a session to each individual’s needs. Kristen has been studying Traditional Chinese Medicine since 1996. Her inspiration to learn TCM came by way of a neurological injury to her beloved horse that conventional medicine was unable to help. After only 2 acupressure sessions, he was significantly better and on the road to full recovery. That is when she knew she had to pursue the path that life had put in front of her, bringing together her love for animals with her passion for TCM. She continues to study TCM and other healing modalities as a lifelong journey. |
