In TCM terms, this type of colic is known as a Small Intestine Pattern. This pattern can be brought about by a variety of causes, including cribbing, a sudden change in feed, or an excessive intake of cold food or water. On an emotional level, frustration or anger can bring on such a condition. Acupoints to work for this type of colic are aimed at moving the small intestine Chi and reducing pain.
